Why did I notice a blob of cervical mucus? Please help!?

I'm not charting my cycles. Anyway... I noticed EWCM two weeks ago and we BD. I've been feeling like my AF is going to show but she hasn't. But the last few days I've had a lot of mucus and today I found a small blob of cervical mucus in my underwear. It was like snot. Not creamy, not runny, not watery. But very thick.
