Why do stores/companys not supply more products for the most bought sizes?

Its hard to predict what will sale and what won't, it would just be pointless to keep a large stock of a certain item in the size that sells most if no one will be interested. Sometimes they just under predict how much something will sale, even though they order a large number it might still sale out.
