What do you get out of a pardon as a person with a misdemeanor on their criminal record?

Generally a request for a pardon is filed by persons incarcerated for very long periods of time after all direct appeals are exhausted--which takes roughly three or four years (depending on the state or country). You don't say where you picked up this charge, so it's hard to give you specific advice. I've never heard of a misdemeanor being pardoned, but, as it is usually governor's discretion, it may be possible. Hope you have some friends in high places...
