Under the cirstances no he is wrong as this is a friendly and teams are trying to prepare for important games and the beginning of the season. Its the clubs that pay the wages and therfor it should be their decision wether or not they can afford to let these players go. If it was important qualifiers then yes but this is a meaningless, ill-timed friendly they should not be interfering with club preparation.
