Is the UK too soft on its criminals...is this why crime is now rife in this country...should we go back to 50s?

Australia is the same, If not worse. A family friend of mine was a victim of a one punch kill in Northbridge (where the nightclubs are.) The guy who killed him was given 3 years in prison. There are so many other examples and its ridiculous that people can get away with sh*t like that. Bring back the death penalty, make punishments harsher and make prison hell, not comfortable living with good food and tv.
